Bureau of Energy, Ministry of Economic Affairs, R.O.C.

What kind of methodologies are adopted in BOE’s assistance to energy sector’s voluntary emission reduction projects?

The GHG reduction methodologies referenced in BOE’s voluntary emission reduction projects are the same as those adopted by the United Nations’ Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects, including AM 0029, AM 0055, ACM 0013, ACM 0002, AMS-ID, AMS -II.B., AMS-II.D., and AMS-III.B. Every BOE involved GHG reduction project proposal and design document has been prepared with reference to these methodologies and complied with the principle of "measurable, verifiable and reportable" (MRV). The BOE has also compiled the "Guidance and Instructions on Applying the Applicable Methodologies for Voluntary GHG Emission Reduction Projects", and posted them on the "Energy Industry Greenhouse Gas Reduction Information Website" for public access and download.(http://verity.erl.itri.org.tw/EIGIC/Index.aspx)
